Available in New Zealand with one engine offering, a choice of two transmissions and in keeping with other Mazda product, three trim levels – GLX, GSX and Limited, the Mazda2 gets an 81kW/141Nm 1.5 litre petrol engine and transmission options are a six speed automatic or six speed manual. Driving home late at night last night my 2003 Protege 3 all of a sudden the radio just shut down, no cd player AM/FM, no souindbut the lights for the system still were illuminated. I figured I’d just popped a fuse, even though the system was not cranking at high volume at the time. Five minutes or less later the dash controls all started blinking and I seem to recall a warning beep as well.
The power to the car was noticeably diminished, lights dim, sluggish/lack of power and the dashboard just flashing and beeping, so I pulled over and shut it down. Got out of the car and heard the radiator system boiling over so I sat there for 5 minutes to let it cool a bit. I switched the key on to check temp and itAfter 5 minutes I switched the key and it turned over very slowly, but the dashboard was much brighter than when I shut it down. Sowith this info can you diagnose. Sowith this info can you diagnose the problem enough to get me running so I can bring it in this morning (Saturday)? Do I have a bad alternator, voltage regulator or stuck thermostat? Does the system automatically blink/flash and beep the dashboard under what specific circumstances???
2003 Mazda Protege, factory stock, no mods. Last month i had fuel pump replace on my mazda3 2010 model. Last 2 days ago i had low fuel so i went to gas station which is where i normally get and have my fuel tank filled.
The next day when i drive the car i was on express way when i saw the engine light was on. I called my mechanic and asked him what does it mean. He asked me did the engine sounds weird and i said no. The mechanic went to check and remove the battery and then re-install again and still nothing change. They said i need to have the computer box scanned. Is this true 🙁.
